Going Green by Connecting Science, Business, and Art: DGI Green Business Plan Competition Held at IUS

On June 4, 2024, the Faculty of Business and Administration at the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) hosted the Green Business Plan Competition within the DeepGreenInno (DGI) project. Dr. Azra Bičo opened the event, welcomed participants, introduced them to DGI aims and outputs, and explained the competition rules, which was followed by inspiring presentations.

A five-member jury composed of Dr. Šejma Aydin, Dr. Emir Hambo, Dr. Nerma Omićević, Dr. Jasmin Šutković, and Deniz Durmuş, MSc had a challenging task of evaluating 12 business ideas by 22 students in two stages: written plans and presentations. Ultimately, the jury decided to award the top three business projects (alphabetically ordered: Clean Drop by Siradža Laletović, Lamija Tanović, and Nejra Hodžić; Dara Engineering by Damir Hanić and Amra Maglajčetović; and Recreate by Selma Krivokapa), while special award went to the best high-school project (Glass Revive Factory by Eva Kuruzović and Lidija Volf).

Besides the competition, participants had a unique opportunity to network with each other but also with the jury and organizers. DGI Project continues to emphasize the importance of going green through a multi-disciplinary approach.
